I compiled a trunk version of FSVS with GCC 3.4 last week, but because the url
config file's path has changed in this version, I couldn't test it on a server here.

As FSVS works correctly with the GCC 4.0 provided with RHEL4 you can keep this
issue closed.

Well, if you like you could go into "src/", call "make waa.s" and send me the
waa.s file - then I could take a look.

A quick google search didn't find anything useful, though.
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16884 should be solved with 3.4.3;
there's a lot on the bugzilla, but it's hard to say whether it "just" doesn't
happen in 4.x because of other optimizations, or because it was fixed.

I'm closing that issue now; you're welcome to send me the waa.s, if you like.

FSVS 1.1.17 works correctly when compiled with GCC 4.1 Preview (gcc version
4.1.0 20060515 (Red Hat 4.1.0-18)), all the tests ran OK, except for test 90.

This result seems to confirm that FSVS (or Subversion) does not compile
correctly with GCC 3.4 anymore. Maybe it's worth checking it in the configure
script or adding a warning to the documentation?

I can't compile trunk now, the compilation process is slow and I need to test
1.1.17 first. I'll keep you informed next week.

Could you (temporarily) try with current trunk?

GCC version is 3.4.6. FSVS 1.1.17 cannot even pass the first test correctly.
Here is the output. As there is a GCC 4.1 Preview in RHEL4, I'm going to
recompile/test FSVS 1.1.17 and keep you informed.

What version of GCC are you using? I think that "status" is uninitialized
somewhere, but from a first look I didn't see anything obvious.
And I can't reproduce that, with gcc 4.3.2.

Do you know valgrind, and could take a look? I can provide some help, if
necessary; for example statements you could take a look in tests/Makefile.

There is no NIS or LDAP, only local flat file /etc/passwd. I'll attach
nsswitch.conf to this issue.

/etc and /var/spool/fsvs are mounted locally.

I've run "fsvs status" with "strace -s 64" and "ltrace -s 64".

Would you please run this command with ltrace (and possibly strace), and send me
the last few lines (10-50)?
Do you use NIS or LDAP for passwd? What says your /etc/nsswitch.conf?
Is that on NFS?

Running on RHEL 4
Versionning /etc.
Setup created with FSVS 1.1.16, works fine.

Now I install FSVS 1.1.17 on top of it, and some commands do not work anymore:

# cd /etc/awstats
# fsvs status
